DEAR SENIOR PHARMACIST

Senior pharmacist. These words leave a bad taste in my mouth. And y’all are responsible for the mess we are in.

First, The CBA agreement. This was effected when most of you had been posted after internship. Leaving us with nothing but a big internship stipend that evaporates in seconds fast with no hope ya kuwa absorbed. There is no joy in tarmacking even with 1M in your account.

Second, the work you do ya kufika 11am and high-five all staff in the hospital, then proceed to balance the bin card, and leave with 20packs each of clavulin 1g na 625mg at 2.00pm, has made it impossible for people to place value in us.

Third, these so called leaders are just good at photo ops, requesting for subscription fees and sending invites for zoom meetings. You literally have to lick ass to get by these people, which is quite unfortunate.

So before muanze kusema seniors, elders and all that crap, know that respect is earned and you damn lost that.

Be about something, maybe I can borrow a leaf or heed an advice or two.

And so if you can, jaribu kusanitize the profession and show some value. The pay and jobs at least iwe justified.

We are tired of the threats and being silenced with money, jobs and opportunities that only benefit a few leaving the majority short changed.

We are tired of being used only when it befits you, especially during strikes.

And if it really necessitates joining unions so that our plights can be heard, could you reduce the subscription fee, have us as Representatives in the boards and for crying out loud effect some changes and policies for the common good of all and the profession.

Is that too much to ask?
